more informationOur sustainability mindset
Salamander was founded over 100 years ago with a patent for leather recycling – the idea of returning materials to the cycle has been at the core of our product development ever since. This tradition gave rise to, among others, our window systems Greta®Fenster_loop and Greta®Fenster_dinkel.
We carry this idea forward into every new product generation to this day. With every advancement of our window systems, we specifically assess three criteria against the respective predecessor system: thermal insulation value, material use, and the CO₂ footprint of the materials used. Where measurable improvements result, we state them concretely for the respective product.
